Our doors are open and our new look restaurant is ready for service. We look forward to welcoming you back to a refreshed Trishna over the coming weeks and months.
On Tuesday 9th May Trishna hosted it’s first of hopefully many, Flight Nights and it was kick started with some tough competition between JKS Restaurants co-founder and wine buyer Sunaina Sethi, Sandia Chang co-founder of Bubbledogs, Kitchen Table and guest wine expert on Saturday Kitchen, along with Wine Car Boot founder and GQ’s Best Sommelier of the Year 2016, Ruth Spivey.
The girls took on the challenge to each pair a 4 course menu of Trishna’s renowned coastal cuisine, with a flight of 3 x 50ml glasses of wine, from which guests were given the power to choose their favourite pairings, in what was a fun and collaborative affair, between sommeliers and guests. Together the trio shared their expertise on their choices, in an evening that very much celebrated the wine over the dish and allowed guests to learn and taste different perspectives on pairing Indian food with different varieties of wine.
Of course their could only be one winner and it was a very close call, decided by the guests…the victorious sommelier with 146 points, was Bubbledogs co-founder Sandia Chang, who reigned supreme with her wine choices which consisted of:
Course 1 Selbach Oster Riesling ‘Zeltinger Sonnenuhr’ Spatlese 2015
Course 2 Pinot Noir, Gusbourne, Kent, England 2014
Course 3 Johanniter Ultra, Dom Bliskowice, Małopolski Przełom Wisły, Poland 2015
Course 4 Domaine Giachino, ‘Prieure Saint Christophe’ Altese, Savoie, France 2015
Sunaina Sethi was a very close 2nd place, with Ruth Spivey taking 3rd place – Best of three ladies?
